Working with Morgan Studio for The Hatch II - a new burger joint in Banbridge

Overview

REQA were delighted to be brought in alongside Michael at Morgan Studio to support the technical side of a hot foot retail outlet fit-out project. Our remit was to support with various elements of detail, navigating statutory applications, and helping out behind the scenes when called upon.

Our commission required us to apply for and obtain planning consent (Change of Use) and Building Control approval. Hot food retail outlets come with their own particular set of building control considerations — and getting the detail right from the start is key for success. Consideraiton of key details of fire safety, accessibility as well as ventilation, extraction and food hygiene requirements for a large commercial kitchen all feed into the technical design. Balncing these with the interior aesthetic concept is key.

For projects like The Hatch, working through these details as part of the process — rather than as an afterthought — avoids any last-minute surprises.

Design credit to Michael, who's attention to detail and considered approach to the space comes through.  This kind of collaboration works so well — design and technical consultancy working together in the same direction.
